Time flies when your having fun

Today is my mom's birthday. She's the one on the right.( I guess it wouldn't really be possible for Shay to be my mom ) Some things you should or can know about my mom. 1.She watches Law and Order every night. 2. She teaches Quest(the smarty pants) at Rugel Elementary 3. She was 1st runner up(and she made sure I said 1st) in a junior miss pagent as a teenager. 4. Her favorite subject to teach is Social Studies. 5. She's been to Europe and China. 6. She told her college roomate she would marry my dad before she talked to him. 7. Her favorite Ice Cream is Blue Bell Homeade Vanilla. 8. She just told me I was her favorite son...and always will be..."Matt and Corey are no competition..Simon's coming close though" 9. She use to leave us kids notes for chores that had acronyms we had to encrypt...such as YRAYTAOH (Your room and your things all over house) 10. She loves visiting her parents. 11. Her favorite brother is her youngest brother Nat(but only because its a maternal bond thing...she loves you all equally) She calls me Nat when I'm in the same local as Nat...Nat is Sarah's dad. 12. She had a smoking problem as 7th grader that lasted for a week. 13. She went to school with "Newman" from Seinfeld and he shared his romantic feelings towards her after they had done some one-act plays during 9th grade summer...."Newman!" 14. She's not a big pet person. 15. She LOVES road trips...she gets really happy on road trips...sings and laughs and sings more. 16. She cooks well, but not often, she cooks good Roast. 17. She was once known as "The Grinch" at our old church. 18. She's taught Sunday School and played Piano at church for 33 years. 19. She taught Andrew Calloway in sixth grade, and Jazreel is in one of her classes this year. 20. She's tried to teach all of us Piano, some of us have gone further than others. 21. She really likes Cracker Barrel, Spring Creek Bar-B-Que and her new favorite is Martinez. 22. She watches "What about Bob" regularly, and our family quotes the movie regularly. 23. She once got Jimmy Carter's autograph and threw it away. 24. She votes Republican. 25. She thinks Laura Bush is pretty...she wishes her hair looked liked hers. 26. She watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time last week. 27. She met Brother Ned (the former pastor and founder of WBC) when she was 16. 28. He confronted her about her choice of colleges. 29. She met dad at the college she chose and Ned asked dad to pastor the church. 30. She tries to spend one on one time with the girls. 31. She thinks Kelly looks like her. 32. She use to think Kelly looked more like Dad, she still might, on that I'm not sure. 33. She is the reason I passed 11th grade Algebra 2, we spent hours every night working on it. 34. She's helped me with every research paper I've done up until college...her favorite was the Titanic, or maybe the one on hurricanes...or civil rights. 35. She loves to look at pictures and watch videos of her grandson(Simon). 36. She has three close friends named Lisa (Lisa Clark, Lisa Pinkston, Lisa Watson) 37. She sleeps on the right side of the bed. 38. She has a huge knowledge of music...just start singing...anything...old 39. She has pretty good handwriting, not great, but good. 40. When I took Piano, b/c she didn't think I would ever take it from her, and I still didn't practice then, anyhow, when I took Piano we would stop by McDonalds for a French Fries and chocolate shake after school. 41. One of her favorite sayings is "get over it" 42. She loves Matt and Corey greatly :) 43. She is helpless with directions. 44. She panics in traffic. 45. She was camp nurse a couple of years ago at Hilltop...she use to be a nurse 46. I've never seen her in a swimsuit, or swim for that matter. 47. I've never seen her fish...I don't think she ever has. 48. If you want to make her happy get her a frosty while your at Wendys. 49. In the past few years she's had both a bike and walking accident. 50. She's a very hard worker, the last one to leave most of the time. 51. She sincerely and whole heartedly cares about her family...the rest of you guys I'm sure she does too, but...I have no doubt about Dad,Kelly, Corey, Future Child, Amy, Matt, Simon, and me.

I just wanted to put something because I know how annoying it is to visit a site that hasn't updated. My life is wonderful. I'm working on a lot of stuff. Hope I can handle the load. Pray for wisdom and courage for me. I haven't been giving, the best way to spell love is t-i-m-e, and I haven't. My time is spent on my worries and my own wisdom. "Lean not on your own understanding" is coming to mind. Later 

The Greatest Show on Earth

Hello. For all who want to come! what? It is the opportunity of a lifetime, you hear that, its the opportunity of a lifetime. Fill in the Blank, LIVE, ONLY $3 admission. It will be at Wesleyan Bible Church. Following the concert will be a free showing of The Passion. There may be food and drinks provided, just a plus. Everyone should come. Be there at 7:30. Because I want to

I'm sitting in the railay station, gotta ticket for my destination... ooooooooo, on a tour of one night stands, with my ticket and guitar in hand, every stop is neatly planned for a poet and his one man band. Hey. I am a rock is a more fitting song for my life right now. I've had a great week. I like to think I'm going home, a place of peace and consistency, I think school might just work for me. I have to get out of a habit of doubting what I'm thinking, I've learned, most people say dumb stuff. I had a really encouraging time with the faculty at the schools, it seems possible to actually teach. Confidence is really important, and some things things pop up either internally or externally that whack it. You can't really do anything you're proud of without it. THis blogger thing is usually a place of professionalism(for lack of better words) but why be professional(for lack of better words). You must be real, I keep being reminded of this. Monica, teachers, yea thats it, but anyhow, it rings true to me. One of things my teacher said was students will see where you're not being authentic and take all they can from you b/c of that. I don't know where this mindset comes from. I don't why I decided to write this. I don't know why . nevermind. hmmm, well, this is a strange post. a less inviting one next... later girls, andrew and corey  

Dairy Queen - Who'd a thunk

Last Sunday we had Simon's 1 year birthday party. I like this picture, particularly the way Chloe is staring down Simon. I still remember her as a baby and I can remember the day Jacob(in Hawaiian shirt)was born, just 3 hours short of my birthday...*Lisa* A true friend would have held on. I was telling Monica the other day that I don't like that Dairy Queen, but after going there Sunday I don't think I've ever been there or to any DQ so cool. (pardon the pun)(actually don't its genius). Why would I hold this prejudice? I think its racisim...maybe. doubtful. It was a great seeing people you haven't seen in "God knows when" day. Success 

Birthday Boy

Can you believe its been a year? Wow! I can't. My top Simon memories of the year... When he was born, AWESOME, I'm not a memory kind of person now that I think about it. Umm... He's just been one of the coolest blessings ever. He only urinated on me once:) see what I mean. I'm having a hard time writing(as others have been recently) maybe its the cd thats skipping in the background or the fact that I'm writing about someone else, and I'm so inrospective that I can't write about other people. :( sad.. but probably true. Anyways this is a great day to be thankful, so everyone should be greatful.
